Aluminium Trihydrate (ATH) and Magnesium Hydroxide (MDH) are both halogen-free flame retardants, but they differ mainly in temperature performance and application range.

Aluminium Trihydrate (ATH)

Decomposes at around 200°C, making it suitable for standard polymers such as PVC, EVA, and rubber compounds. It is cost-effective, easy to process, and provides good whiteness and flame retardancy for general applications.

Magnesium Hydroxide (MDH)

Decomposes at around 330°C, allowing use in higher processing temperature polymers such as polyolefins (PE, PP). It offers better thermal stability, improved smoke suppression, and is suitable for more demanding fire-resistant applications.
